"Paint with Passion and be in Love,
with what you See and Paint"

KANDY TATE
Kandy Tate approaches each canvas portraying the drama
of color and sunlight with bold brushstrokes. Kandy's philosophy is to "paint with passion and be in love with what you see and paint." She hopes she stirs the viewer's imagination and speaks to others.

Kandy designs  her paintings according to her vision.  The emotive power of landscape scenery offers a boundless source of inspiration and expressive force in her works.  She focuses entirely on depicting the fleeting effects of light and color on all surfaces she encounters.

Tate received her Bachelor of Fine Art at Wichita State University
her master's at Kansas University, and has had extensive training in Europe. She has also taught art at the University of New Mexico.

Her work is in many prominent collections, including the White House, and the collection of George and Barbara Bush.

Kandy's paintings have been used in movies, TV commercials and other varied items, such as metro phonebook covers, brochures for seminars for the University of Texas Law School, and the State Bar of New Mexico.  She has been published in Southwest Art Magazine, American Artist, and Art of the West.  In 2015, Kandy was the featured artist for Albuquerque The Magazine.  As featured artist for the 2015 Vintage Albuquerque auction, her painting was  featured on the cover of the brochure and etched on a magnum bottle of wine from the prestigious Heitz Winery of Napa Valley, California.

Kandy has had the honor of having two of her paintings in the movie Bart and Star Go To Vista Del Mar, release date 2021, starring Kristen Wiig, Annie Mumolo and Damon Wayans Jr. One of the producers is Will Ferrell.

Kandy was featured in the Art Gallery section of the magazine "Cowboys & Indians."
